Make sure that nconvert and Imagetool are in the same folder as the batch file. (This is quick, rough and dirty and has no guarantee of working.). Texconv perhaps?
Guys, OP wants to do a mass resize using as few steps as possible retaining alphas and possibly MIPs, right? I am assuming the source files are FSX compatible.dds only, already flipped, no stray bmps or anything out of the ordinary. So why not try MS's own TexConv. Should be a one-liner that: texconv -w 256 -h 256 -m 2 -f DXT5.dds 'Convert (resize) all dds files in this folder to 256 using two MIP levels.'
(Might want to adjust the number of MIPs.) So where does one get Texconv? See attachment - contains the prog, a help file and a custom Resize.bat already.
