Honeywell Truesteam Humidifier Troubleshooting카테고리 없음 2020. 2. 17. 05:36
Anybody have any knowledge of this unit? I installed it 2 weeks ago and it ran fine at first.
1st time it stopped working the water tank wasn't filling up. Removed tank and reinstalled it,hit the reset button and it worked fine for a while. Today it stopped working again. Removed tank but this time it was filled to the top with water. Reinstalled the tank, hit the reset button and it started working again. I just sent an email to Honeywell, but after reading a post on here about it having to be professionally installed and Honeywell will not help, so that was a waste of time. Thanks in advance. No I have not contacted the dealer yet.
I was on the phone with Honeywell and they could not help me because I was not an 'HVAC contrator'. They told me that only the contractors have the troubleshooting data sheets. So I asked him where the contractors got the troubleshooting data sheets from and he could not answer me. I'm going out on a limb here,:thinker: maybe they got it from Honeywell! Well folks if you decide to get a Honeywell product:thumbdn: you are on your own if you have problems.Sorry for venting but that is $376.11 down the drain. Thanks for the help Jay.
Wish it was that easyJay. I'm not getting any fault codes. Yesterday morning I removed the 2 wires that were hooked up to the humidstat and thermostat W and G as the instructions in page 15 say' For auto-operation: also wire W and G to thermostat W and G'.
I have the TrueIAQ controller. These connections didn't make sense to me but I wired them per instructions. So I disconnected them and so far it's working. Go figure.I had a wiring problem with the diagram also. I also have the truesteam and the vision pro iaq. Check out this post for the correct wiring diagram:Make sure all connections are exactly as you see them.
Thanks rblask. This is my second home that I've installed a Honeywell humidifier. I know they make a good product but their electrical diagrams are usually wrong. My other house I purchased a Honeywell humidifier and it came with a manual control. The first winter I was getting a lot of condensation on my windows. I called the dealer where I bought it and they told me I needed the automatic controller with the frost protection.
Well I hooked everything up like the manual said and it did not work at all. I spoke to the dealer many times and he could not figure it out. Needless to say I never got it to work and had to put the manual control back.
I had to constantly adjust the humidity when it got colder. I had my brother in-law install a 12 gallon TrueSteam humidifier. It worked fine for a day but then I received an error message - Call Service. When I hit the reset button I get three blinks.
The book says this means the tank is not filling, but it is full. I have emptied the tank, cleaned the tank, and changed the water filter (all suggestions in the book) but still can't get it to work.My brother in-law is an HVAC contractor but unfortunately he is from out of state and has run out of ideas on the phone. The only thing left that the book suggests is to change the solenoid valve.
However, I am confused since the three blinks is supposed to mean the tank is not full, but it is - and it is hot too.Any suggestions? Thanks. I don't think the drain valve is leaking - I don't see/feel any water up near the valve and I have taken the tank out and water ran cleanly through while I was cleaning the tank. I also have taken the drain line and put it into a bucket to make sure it was draining okay and the bucket fills up when I empty the tank - it even fills up when I first power up and hit reset, but then the tank fills again and stays full.Appreciate the suggestion - any others would be welcome as it is very dry in my house and this is pretty frustrating! Awong1:It is a remote hose and I do not see any sags, but since I have tried everything else I decided to test your theory. I just took the remote hose entirely off and turned the unit on and it created steam and worked fine.
Honeywell Truesteam Humidifier Warranty
Thanks for your help! Now I just need to figure out how to run the hose correctly! I definitely have some downslope because my furnace is basically on my attic floor (gas pipe is in the way of where I could mount it direct). I go down about four feet, then along the floor for about 3 1/2 feet and then up to my unit (about 2 feet with slope) - I am assuming the portion along the floor is the problem since I was trying to avoid the slope so I could still walk in the area.Do you think I could go overhead, put in the trap and then up about 2 feet to my furnace (with slope) or would the downslope be too much (probably six or seven feet). The installation book mentions 3 feet maximum for the down portion. Thanks again for your help - at least I know what is wrong now! I also seem to have having trouble with my TrueSteam (6 gal model). I just installed it a couple days ago, and it ran great almost solid for two days working to get the humidity up.
(It's super cold here right now.)I should also mention that it's a direct mount to the duct, not a remote mount. However, I woke up this morning and checked my hygrometer and saw that it was super dry again. I checked the TrueSteam and saw the red light on. I pressed reset and got three blinks, which is the 'failure to fill tank' code.I power cycled the unit, and it tried to fill the tank with water again.
It seemed to be making the correct noises, so I assumed it was filling. I checked back a few minutes later, and the light was on again. I pulled the tank, and it was empty!
I then power cycled it again, and watched the drain hose. It seemed to be dumping water out the drain hose just as fast as I would expect it to be taking it in! I'm assuming that this means that the drain solenoid is stuck.Does anyone else have any ideas? It's too bad, because this is such a cool unit. I just hope this isn't an indicator of more trouble to come. Thanks!
There have been some isolated problems with the solenoid valves that occur right after start up. Call the distributor or contractor you purchased the unit from and request a replacement valve. Always ensure an uphill flow when installing the remote hose, and avoid kinks, sharp turns, or low spots that could restrict the flow of steam into the injection nozzle or condensation back into the humidifier. If the remote hose cannot be installed with an upward pitch of 2 in./ft., a drip tee must be installed. Failure to do so can result in back pressure on TrueSTEAM, which can lead to duct nozzle water spitting or leaking gasket. Remote hose must be supported to prevent sagging or low spots.'
HVAC Man- How does Honeywell's warranty work in your experience? My distributor is telling me to order the new solenoid from them and then they'll reimburse me when Honeywell reimburses them.
Honeywell Truesteam Humidifier Problems
I wonder if I'll ever see pay back if I do this.I would have to know who you purchased the humidifier from but that is not the correct procedure for an authorized Honeywell distributor to follow. They should send you a new solenoid valve and expect you to immediately return the bad valve. If you fail to return the valve then they would be within their rights to bill you for the replacement.
